Summary :Vigneux sur Seine situated in Paris area is the biggest ultrafiltration plant in the world. It supplies perfect quality drinking water without taste nor smell. Lyonnaise des Eaux uses there one of the most succesful operating process named CRISTAL. It is used for the refining after the classical steps of the drinking water treatment : elutration, filtration on active granulating coal. Actif coal powder is injected in water to catch the disolved organic matter wich will be held in the membrane.This process has received a prime in the framework of the european environment defense project "LIFE". To complete this video press kit, the opening of Vigneux sur Seine factory by Dominique Voynet, Minister of environment and interviews of Bernard Guirklinger (Director "water" France) are presented.
